Based in New York City, Rachel began her artistic pursuits under the watchful eye of her mother, an artist herself.  She spent many hours in the studio exploring the many mediums and techniques that the materials allowed.  Where she found a voice for her creative mind.

She attended Adelphi University and received her degree in nursing.  Rachel has also made extensive studies in anthropology at Brockport University.

She began working in ceramics in 1990, at the Chelsea Ceramic Guild in New York City.  Here she learned the fundamentals of ceramics beginning with functional work and then moving into more explorative themes with hand-building techniques.  She has also explored many firing methods that help her with the look of the final artwork.  She has also begun to cast her work in bronze.

Rachel has exhibited her work throughout the New York area and has also been part of the Ceramic Artist Friendship Association show at the Nippon Gallery in Toyko, Japan.  Winning an honorable mention in the non-function category.

Currently, she has a studio at City Potters and continues to explore functional pottery.
